Introduction

Flow is a Desktop and Mobile application that runs in the background, allowing you to voice dictate anywhere on your computer / phone. When activated, Flow gathers context (e,g. the app you’re using, what’s on your screen) and records the audio, which is then sent to our servers for processing. The resulting text is pasted into the active textbox. We take your privacy very seriously and are committed to protecting your data. This Data Usage Policy, along with our Privacy Policy, describes how we handle data within Flow.

Data Collection and Usage

Default Behavior

By default, Flow stores all your data locally on your desktop / mobile. This includes:

  • Context: Including which app you’re in and what you’re looking at (on desktop only). This is captured when you activate Flow.
  • Audio Recordings: Recorded when you activate Flow.

This data is used solely to generate text, which Flow then pastes into the active textbox. No data is saved on our servers unless you choose to share it.

Optional Data Sharing

You have the option to enable the "Help improve Flow for everyone" feature. When enabled:

  • Audio, transcripts, and edited text are shared with our servers to help train our models and improve Flow for all users.

If this feature is disabled:

  • No data is stored on our servers. Only a local copy of the data is stored on your device.

Reporting Transcripts

If you see errors or unexpected behavior, you can send feedback and report a specific transcript by pressing Fn+R or clicking the Report button. This sends the transcript to our servers for review and improvement purposes, regardless of the "Help improve Flow for everyone" setting.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local Storage

When the "Help improve Flow for everyone" feature is disabled:

  • Data is stored locally on your computer and not saved on our servers.

Server Storage

When the "Help improve Flow for everyone" feature is enabled:

  • Data is stored on our servers to train and improve our models. At times, our team will review the data manually to check for errors.

Opt-Out and Data Deletion

You can request the deletion of data associated with you at any time by submitting a Data Opt-Out Form. Upon receiving your request, we will promptly delete your data from our servers, provided that residual data may persist temporarily in our backup systems.
